Datex is a two-layer material consisting of a supportive layer of stretchy polyester/elastane and a top layer of 100% chlorinated natural rubber latex. It has the look of rubber but can be embroidered and is not as fragile as rubber. Another advantage is that it can be easily put on without relying on talcum powder or silicones. Because it glides over the skin much more easily, it is well suited to making hoods.
